Transport Women Australia Limited are excited to announce the 2024 Driving the Difference scholarship recipients, along with our proud sponsor Daimler Truck Australia Pacific. These scholarships were established in and have been awarded to a diverse group of women in the transport, logistics and supply chain industry. They have undertaken a wide range of courses to continue their professional development or to enter our industry.
Applicants are always of an extremely high standard and the choice of the final recipients a very debated and difficult one for the board. The quality of the applicants is outstanding, and we remain committed to providing enduring support for these amazing women and encourage anyone who has missed receiving a scholarship with their first application to reapply as there is always the opportunity for success the following year.
The candidates are very varied and shows the depth of talent in our industry. The recipients over the years have been from every state but not yet from the NT or ACT and all sectors – road transport, rail, maritime and manufacturing have been represented but not yet, aviation.
The successful applicants are Nellie White and Cinamon Bohr of Albury/Wodonga, Ashleigh Anderson and Emma Manton of Brisbane, and Jo Tomaszewski of Sydney. These amazing candidates will be presented with their certificates at end of year functions in the city closest to them.
All the candidates provided applications for chosen courses that will assist them in advancing their careers within our industry and contribute to their companies as they expand their knowledge and experience. TWAL and Daimler are immensely proud to support women as female participation continues to grow within the industry.
Leadership skills and careers are enhanced by programmes such as these, and the opportunity that these scholarships provide, being awarded the Driving the Difference scholarship means that those successful applicants can undertake study that might otherwise be out of reach to them. The recipients are also encouraged to participate in TWAL events and given networking and speaking opportunities to further broaden their experience and given exposure to leaders and mentors within the wider transport community.
We encourage everyone who is eligible to apply for these scholarships in 2025 when they become available.
