Transport Women Australia Limited is thrilled to announce Ainsleigh Thomas as the recipient of the inaugural Young Gunnette Award proudly sponsored by Cummins Inc at the Living the Dream Conference Awards dinner in Melbourne.
This award recognises the achievements of up-and-coming females, 30 years or under in the transport and logistics industry who can display that they are contributing to the industry over and above their paid employment/business.
Ainsleigh has worked for Australia post for 9 years, this being her first job out of school. She has since then been the ‘rising star’ of StarTrack. At 25 years of age she commenced her role as NSW/ACT Linehaul Manager and is responsible for on average 12 contractors moving approx 102 linehaul movements a night.
Ainsleigh plans to improve her knowledge in compliance and is invested in continuous learning and improvement for the industry. She has coordinated the sustainability project and implementation of the first ever b triples and a doubles into the road freight network within Australia Post and StarTrack.
Along with excelling in her role, Ainsleigh is always giving her 100% and goes above and beyond to support her local community groups such as raising and donating $1700 for Rooty Hill Women’s 2nd Change Hub to go towards the UN program that they run. She has also been a mentor during the Australia Post internal ProjectME self awareness and development program, successfully coaching 28 women over 3 years of 8 week programs and has recently joined the Transport Women Australia Limited Social media subcommittee.
Ainsleigh is an asset to Australia Post, StarTrack, Transport Women Australia Limited and the industry and is extremely deserving of this award.
Congratulations Ainsleigh A big congratulations to Ashley Belteky who was the finalist alongside Ainsleigh. You both should be very proud of yourselves.
