Frances Ross awarded Trish Pickering Memorial Award 2024

1st June 2024

Transport Women Australia Limited is ecstatic to announce the winner of the 2024 Trish Pickering Memorial Award at the Awards Dinner of the Living the Dream Conference in Melbourne.

This year, this prestigious award went to Frances Ross of Ross Transport. This award is proudly sponsored by Wes Pickering in memory of his late wife, Trish. The award is given to a woman for her continuous contribution to the transport and logistics industry based on the four pillars of strength, leadership, being a role model, and encouragement of others. The award is presented annually to recognize women who are dedicated to improving the transport industry and have made an outstanding contribution over a prolonged period.

Frances cofounded Ross Transport in Port Kembla in 1975 and is still involved in the business today at the ripe young age of 82. She has always been at the helm steering an extremely successful business doing all jobs within the company operations.

Frances has overcome some incredibly challenging times within the transport industry, the main one being a female in a predominantly male industry. She is an extraordinarily strong, resilient woman and we are so proud to have awarded this award to her last night.

Her years of dedication have truly elevated our industry. Thank you, Frances, for your inspiring contributions!
