On Tuesday, 12th March 2024, Transport Women Australia Limited held their International Women’s Day nibbles and drinks hosted by former TWAL Director True Sawrey at the Illawarra Yacht Club.
We had dedicated TWAL member and supporter Louise Azzopardi give an inspirational speech on what IWD means to her; IWD belongs to everyone, everywhere. Inclusion means all IWD action is valid. Her speech was as usual well received and giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions.
We had some awesome raffle prizes up for grabs and some great business card draw prizes who went to Maggie Coster and Lisa Barlow from Southern Truck Centre, Stewart Moore from Park Pty Ltd and Ruth Wilkins from Metal Transport Industries.
We thank our supporters for the event and the businesses that donated prizes to the raffle and business card draw – PENSKE, Suttons Trucks Arncliffe, Ross Transport, Southern Truck Centre and Muscat Trailers. We also thank our volunteers on the night Louise Azzopardi, Orlane Mortimer from Wollongong Crane Trucks and Alicia and Wayne Marskell from Ross Transport.
It was a great night all night! Happy International Women’s Day for last Friday. This year the campaign theme was ‘inspire inclusion’ where we imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #InspireInclusion and that’s why networking events like last night are so important.
