Young Gunnette Award announced

Transport Women Australia Limited is excited to announce a new industry award the “Young Gunnette” Award to be sponsored by longtime supporter and sponsor, Cummins.

The Award was announced at the 2024 apprentice intake at Cummins Scoresby on February 5, and both Cummins and TWAL were delighted that at this largest intake of apprentices, there was 33% of females.

The award will be offered to young women under the age of thirty and is one of the ways TWAL continues to promote, motivate, and encourage young females who are making strides early in their careers. Entrants must be individuals who can display that they are contributing to the industry over and above paid employment/business.

This can also include an individual who has demonstrated leadership on a matter relating to the industry and/or who has been involved in a significant initiative that has brought about positive change or added value to the industry and/or has inspiring qualities as an advocate of the industry.

TWAL is delighted to offer this an award recognition of the amazing young women that we have joining our industry today and encourage others to see that trucking industry is a great career choice. We have some amazing young women within our industry and among our TWAL members and this is a chance to recognise one of them.
